Virgia Adams

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Virgia Adams, born on December 3, 1943, and peacefully departed this world on September 13, 2024, at the age of 80. Virgia was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose life was defined by her love for her family, her dedication to her career, and her passion for the things she cherished most. Virgia was the devoted mother of Jerry (Raquel), Michael, and Nicole (Bill) Smith, the cherished grandmother of Adrian, Jacob, Sebastian, Avery, Sarah, Christien, Jasmine, Elaina, and Mason, and a dear sister to Grady "Buddy" Chancellor. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Emerson "Jerry" Adams, who passed just a few short weeks before her on August 27, 2024. Her family finds solace in knowing they are together again. She is also predeceased by her parents, Albert and Carrie Chancellor, and her sister, Jackie Hall. A hard worker from a young age, Virgia had a career as a real estate agent for a brief time. She would then go on to become a proud and dedicated nurse, spending much of her life caring for others, always offering a kind word and compassionate heart. Virgia was a woman of many talents and passions, she was also a talented cook, delighting in preparing meals for her loved ones. Family was everything to Virgia, and she treasured every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. In her younger years, Virgia enjoyed gardening, sewing, and horseback riding. Virgia also spent countless days on the green enjoying a game of golf with her husband, and enjoyed many special moments roller-skating with her daughter, Nicole. Virgia was a lifelong animal lover, especially fond of her dogs, who were like children to her. She always had a special bond with her pets, treating them with the same love and care she gave her family. Virgia's legacy is one of love, strength, and resilience. She touched the lives of so many, and her warmth, kindness, and dedication to family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 11am, until the time of the funeral service at 12pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 2784 E Square Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48085. A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the funeral Service. Virgia will be laid to rest with her husband, Emerson, at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations be made out to the family.
