William K. Gillin. Age 81. April 3, 2019. Bill was born on June 27, 1937 in Johnstown, PA to William and Ethel Gillin. Loving father of Lori (Ralph) Walker, Cindy (Ken) Swiantek, Karen (Richard) Pickering and Bill Gillin. Proud grandfather of Brett Dauphinais, Erik Dauphinais, Kitty (Mike) Curtis, Kimberr (John) Newby, Krystal (Steven) Aviles, William Gillin, ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Dear brother of Carolyn (Harry) Miller, the late Lou Rae Banas, Reva (Pat, still living) Clancy and Cheryl Lizewski. Brother-in-law of Margaret (the late Norman) Adams and proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his former spouse, Beverly Gillin. Mr. Gillin resided in Westland and previously in Allen Park. He was a graduate of St. Hedwig High School. His career path found him driving a semi-truck with UPS, where he retired, but also previously owned Highland Park Taxis with his father. Never one to be idle, Bill will most be remembered as a "pool shark," and in 1998 became Snooker State Champ in Arizona. He was often found at his favorite haunts including: The Rack, Ball-N-Cue, Blue Diamond, Senate Coney Island, as well as the MGM Casino. He loved the DRC Race Track, was a member of the Lincoln Park Moose Lodge, Democratic Club Member and a Teamster. An avid sports fan, Bill would often watch his grandkids, as well as nieces and nephews playing in their various athletic competitions. He loved spending time with his family, especially the monthly family poker parties. At age 70, Bill began riding motorcycles and bought a white Harley Softail. In keeping with his active lifestyle, he was invited to the Pool Olympic Trials in Chicago and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. Anyone who knew Bill will remember him as always smiling! Visitation Monday 2-8 pm with a 7 pm scripture service at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blocks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak.
