William Edward Lewis II

William Edward Lewis II, age 64, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away on August 17, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 19, 1958, in Dayton, OH, he was the son of William Lewis and Dora (Jenkins) Quick. William's early years were marked by his dedication to country. He proudly served as a United States Marine, embodying the values of honor, courage, and commitment. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a Linesman for DTE, where his strong work ethic and technical expertise were widely recognized and respected. Outside of his professional life, William's true passions came to light. He was a man of many talents and interests, often referred to as a "jack of all trades." An outdoors enthusiast, he found solace and joy in camping, allowing him to connect with nature and create lasting memories with loved ones. Additionally, his mechanical aptitude led him to work on cars, a hobby that brought him both challenge and satisfaction. William's legacy is deeply woven into the lives of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Lewis, who stood by his side through all of life's joys and challenges. He will forever be remembered as a guiding light for his son, Allen (Emily) Lewis, and his 11 cherished grandchildren: Kessa (Zack), Allen Jr., Kaleb, Heaven, Angelina, Cadence, Serenity, Shadyn, Caylee, Evan, and Landon. His sisters, Jeannie (Terry), Carol, and Peggy, shared a special bond with him that transcended time and distance. Though he has left this earthly realm, William's memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dora; his son William III; and his brother James. A celebration of William's life will be held at Wm.
