Allen Stieber

Allen J. Stieber, age 75, a resident of Sterling Heights, passed away October 4, 2015 at his home. Allen was born December 1, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from high school Allen enlisted in the United States Army and, was installed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Allen served in the 101st Infantry Airborne Battle Group Company. He proudly recorded 21 jumps. He is a member of the American Legion, Post #351. After being honorably discharged from the U. S. Army Allen went on to work for Diebold Alarm Company as an Electrician for 40 years of dedicated service retiring in 2000. Allen was an avid supporter of the Detroit Lions Football team and a season ticket holder for many years. He enjoyed making and cooking many soups. His specialty soups were his "chicken noodle" and his "kluski". Along with making many different soups he enjoyed preparing Sunday breakfast for his family. He was meticulous in his up-keep of his cars and a very dedicated vegetable gardener. Allen enjoyed traveling back to Fort Campbell, Kentucky and to Kissimmee. Florida with his family and the love of his life "Flo". Allen lived for his wife Florence whom he enjoyed 52 years of loving marriage, being wed on September 7, 1963 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, in Detroit, Michigan. Beloved husband to Florence "Flo". Loving father of Allen (Liz) Stieber, Jr., Denise Stieber, Michele (Rudy IV) Thiel, John Stieber,and Jennifer Stieber, Dear grandfather of Rudy V, Rachael, Caitlin, Daniel, Adam, and Ben. Loved brother of Therese Stieber, and Celine (Don) Henning. Allen's family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 1:00 until 8:00 PM at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, (3 Blocks East of Van Dyke) Utica, MI 48317. A rosary service will take place on Wednesday 7:00 PM. In state Thursday 9:30 AM until time of funeral Mass 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Rd., Utica, MI 48317. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township, MI.
