Arnella R. Marshall Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Arnella Rose Marshall, age 98, of Royal Oak, passed away on July 19, 2022. Beloved wife of the late James T. Marshall. Loving mother of Rosanne (the late Gerald) Jasina and the late Diane Marshall and Richard Marshall. Dear sister of the late Janice McCormick. Rose was born on the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis, where her father worked as the grounds caretaker. She then grew up in the Indianapolis area, graduating from Shoreridge High School in 1941. She married Jim in May of 1942. Rose spent most of her working time as a devoted homemaker, but she also enjoyed a separate career as a bookkeeper with the Lutheran Synod in Detroit for many years. She was very involved with her kids' activities growing up, even serving as Scout leader of Girl Scout Troop 461 for quite a few years. In her free time, Rose loved to travel. She and her husband took many trips around the U.S. with a close group of friends, and she spent many winters at a separate residence in Phoenix, AZ to escape the cold. Rose loved playing the organ and piano. Bowling and enjoying a good game of cards were other favorite pastimes. She was also particularly devoted to her church, Good Shepherd Lutheran in Royal Oak, where she was a member since the early 1950's. Rose was deeply loved and will be dearly missed. Visitation will take place on Monday, July 25, from 3 - 8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blocks east of Woodard), Royal Oak. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, July 26, at 11:00 a.m. (visitation 10:00) at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 814 N. Campbell Rd., Royal Oak.
