Barbara L. Holmes, age 83, passed away on December 1, 2021 in Zephyrhills, FL. She was born on July 26, 1938 in Pontiac to Carl Roberson and Helen Knox Roberson. Beloved wife to the late James "Jim" Holmes, the two were wed on June 20, 1959. Barb and Jim were longtime area residents and enjoyed summers at their cottage in Harrison. They attended Sterling Heights United Methodist church before retiring to Florida. Beloved wife of the late James Holmes, who preceded her in death on May 4, 2021. Cherished mother of Teri (Jack) Kachler and Scott (Tracey) Holmes. Treasured grandmother of Krystal Kachler, Doug Kachler, Adam (Christina) Holmes, Jennifer (Doug) Van Houten, Thomas Holmes, Melissa (Roji) Alexander, Jeremy Hessler, Tommy Pickett and the late Sara Kachler. Adored great-grandmother to seven. Dear sister of Pam (Dennis) Olmstead and Joanne (Louis) Alonzi. Visitation Monday 12 noon until time of funeral 2 pm at William Sullivan and Son Funeral Home Royal Oak at 705 W. 11 Mile Road, Royal Oak, MI 48067. Interment will follow at Oakview Cemetery.
