Bettye Harrington Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Bettye Harrington (Nee Benham), age 93, passed away on January 18, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Eddie. Loving mother of Pamela (Dennis) Uitti and Edwina (Bill) Barsuhn. Proud grandmother of Rebekah (Keith) Putnam, Elizabeth (Joe) Burkel, Matthew (Adrienne) Uitti, Jonathan Barsuhn and Sarah Barsuhn. Great grandmother of Jeremy, Chloe, Lincoln, Julianne, Estelle and Henry. Dear sister of the late Claude Benham, Newman Benham, Ailene Horton, Bobbye Nell Benham, Bill Benham, Earl Benham, Ruth Pierce, Helen Gordon, Lucy Nelson and Ida Freeman. Bettye was also predeceased by her parents Claude and Nellie Benham. Most of Bettye's life she was a homemaker and enjoyed keeping a clean house. She also took care of her husband Eddie who was paralyzed 20 years before his passing in 2000. She also had several jobs throughout her life including: Michelin Chemical, a catering company, a potato chip factory, being a caregiver, as well as working with the Meals on Wheels program supplying lunch for others. For the past 19 years she lived at National Church Residence Lakeside Towers Senior Apartment in Sterling Heights, MI. She loved living here and had many friends. Most of all she enjoyed all the activities and socializing with the other residents. A visitation will take place at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica, on Friday (January 22nd) from 4pm-8pm. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday (January 23rd) at 11am at the funeral home. Family requests donations to Woodside Bible Church Critical Needs Fund.
