Carolyn Elizabeth Westmoreland Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Carolyn Westmoreland died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes at the age of 93 on August 14, 2021. She was born in Detroit on May 25, 1928. She married Bill Westmoreland in Detroit on September 6, 1947 and they moved to Royal Oak in October 1950. Carolyn was the mother of 5, grandmother of 19 and great grandmother of 32, and managed to get birthday and holiday cards to all of them every year! She loved sewing with her St. Dennis Church group, tending to her flowers and plants, cheering for the Detroit Tigers and most of all she loved her family. She taught all of us many things, but not how to live without her. She will be missed by all who knew her. Carolyn is survived by her children, Mickey (Littlet) Westmoreland of California, Jim (Patsy) Westmoreland of Tennessee, Janet (Dennis) Ryan of Empire, Michigan, and Paul (Stephenie) Westmoreland of South Carolina; 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Westmoreland (d. 4/13/1999); daughter, Peggy Kershaw; grandson, Andy Westmoreland; parents, Stephen and Anna Rosneck; brother, Steve Rosneck; and sister, Clara Adams. Memorial visitation Monday, August 30th from 3-8 pm at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak. Memorial Mass Tuesday, August 31st at 10 am at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 28353 Herbert Street, Madison Heights. Inurnment at Christian Memorial Garden West, Rochester Hills.
