Christopher William Charnow

Christopher William Charnow, age 28, died suddenly and unexpectedly in Chicago on July 29, 2017. Chris leaves behind his father William Charnow, mother Cheryl Brown, stepfather Jeff Brown and brother Justin Brown. He was a beloved grandson of Elizabeth and the late Charles Charnow and Alice and Glen Brackenbury. Also a beloved nephew of Lori Vidler, Brian (Joanne) Brackenbury, Christine (Andy) Docherty, Michael (Kim) Charnow and Patrice (Scott) Kohn. Cousins Ryan (Caitlin) Charnow, Danny (Jessica) Charnow, Chuck (Jenny) Docherty, Michael Docherty, Katie and David Vidler, Nathan, Noah, Hannah and Chloe Brackenbury, Katelyn and Isabella Kohn and Patton Docherty were a big part of his life. Chris was an accomplished scholar, graduating with honors from Royal Oak High School and the University of Michigan. He was a member of the SAE Fraternity. Chris had a very successful career after graduating with a degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering. All who knew Chris, knew that he had an unparalleled zest for life. He lived life to the fullest with no limits. Chris was passionate about many things in his life. He loved downtown Chicago, where he lived. He loved his many friends and was passionate about socializing and celebrating all Chicago had to offer. Chris was most passionate about traveling, exploring and making friends all around the world. Australia was his favorite destination. His travels also took him to New Zealand, Germany, Thailand, India, Ireland, Czech Republic, Columbia, Puerto Rico and Mexico, as well as the continental United States. Another passion of Chris’ was Rock and Roll. He was passionate about attending music festivals, concerts, jam sessions playing drums and impromptu rock band sessions. Chris loved computers and would build them for friends and family. He was also an avid on-line gamer and runner. Chris’ love of life will be his legacy and will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved him. A memorial celebration of Chris’ life will take place on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a brief service at 1:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak. Chris’ family has requested no flowers please.
