Francis J. MacDonald Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Francis J. MacDonald, age 75 of Rochester Hills, passed away on July 1, 2022. He was born on December 26, 1946 in Detroit to John Duncan MacDonald and Mary Anne MacIssac MacDonald, both of whom were from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He served in the U.S. National Guard. Frank was a Master Electrician and owner of Cardinal Electric. Known as Guluth, Uncle Gug or Francis by his loved ones, he was truly a kid at heart, always the light of every gathering. He could be found playing with the kids on the floor, letting them climb on him, singing an old time song and making everyone in the room feel happy and loved. He found joy in spending time with his family and extended family. Francis loved history, cars, Detroit and sharing stories of growing up with friends in the old neighborhood. To know Frank was to love Frank. He will forever be missed. Beloved husband of Linda Brooky MacDonald. The couple were married on September 16, 1967. Loving father of Linnea (Mike) Holycross and Dana (Paul) Pennanen. Proud grandfather of Morgan Holycross, Brennan Holycross, Jack Pennanen and William Pennanen. Dear brother of Alexander MacDonald, Charles MacDonald, Florence (Don) Jones and David (the late Chris) MacDonald. Visitation Thursday 3-8 pm. Funeral Friday 11 am at Wm.
