Gordon E. Johanson, age 76, resident of Washington Township, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022, in Troy, Michigan. He was born on August 21, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Henry and Dorothy (nee Newberry) Johanson. Gordon proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired 1985 with 20 years and 5 days of service. Gordon then worked at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) for 14 years, retiring in 1999. Beloved husband of 55 years to Jodell Johanson (nee Berg). Loving father of Todd (Tami) Johanson, and Shannon (Dean) VanSlambrouck. Proud grandfather of Breanna Johanson, Blake Johanson, Ryan VanSlambrouck, and Leah VanSlambrouck. Dear brother of William (Kristin) Johanson, and Raymond (Cindy) Johanson. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gordon and Jodell became hooked on antiques during their first trip to England. Gordon especially loved clocks. Along with clocks, Gordon was an avid volleyball player. He played volleyball for 57 years, played on many different teams, made friends all over the country, won numerous gold metals at the Senior Olympics and his proudest moment was recently being named tournament MVP.
