Grace Elizabeth Schlegelmann Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Grace Elizabeth Schlegelmann (nee Eckert), passed away July 21, 2021, age 93. Beloved wife of the late Frank B. Schlegelmann (deceased May 12, 1997). Grace was born February 10, 1928 in Huntington Woods to Albert A. and Margaret Stella (nee Lockman) Eckert. Beloved mother of Frances Walters, Jean Schlegelmann, Peter Schlegelmann, Louise Ihm (David) and Ruth Allen (Kevin). Also survived by 5 grandchildren and one 3 month old great granddaughter. Sister of all the late James Eckert, Joseph Eckert, Mary Agnes Boufford, Robert Eckert and Charles Eckert. Grace worked for Sears for over 20 years. She even met Frank while working there and they were married February 20, 1960. After retiring, she was active with the Sears Retirees. Retirement came easy for Grace, as she had many interests and groups to keep her busy. She was active at her church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Troy. At home, she loved to quilt, garden and read. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and was blessed to meet her first great grandchild. She is remembered for her cheerful smile, optimism and gift for storytelling. Visitation Monday July 26th 4:00 - 8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd (4 blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak. In state Tuesday 10:30am until Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 280 E. Square Lake Rd., Troy. Burial St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Royal Oak. Memorial donations to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
