James Pappas Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James (Jim) Pappas, 87, of Troy, MI passed peacefully at his home on August 16, 2021. Son of the late John and Sophie (Maniates) Pappadopolous, Jim was born in Chicago, IL on January 2, 1934. Jim was a graduate of Kelvyn Park High School, class of 1951 and later attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, graduating in 1954. He also served as a Specialist Third Class in the Army during the Korean War. From a young age, Jim was passionate about the automobile and enjoyed a 45-year career designing cars for Lincoln, before moving to American Motors Corporation as Manager of Interior Design, and ultimately Chrysler. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Connie (Ford); his daughter and son-in-law, Cristina (Pete) Stackpoole; son, Matthew Pappas; grandson, Henry Stackpoole; sister-in-law, Gale (Dennis) Ford; nieces, Tracey and Andrea Ford; and cousins, Jim and Dean Stellas. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for an Open House in celebration of Jim's life on Sunday, August 29th from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Atelier Art Studio located at 407 E 4th St., Royal Oak, MI 48067.
