Karner "Mac" McKinnon Sr.

March 3, 1925 - April 1, 2022

Karner Joseph "MAC" McKinnon Sr., age 97 and WW II Veteran, of Chesterfield (formerly of Sterling Heights), passed away peacefully with family at his side on April 1, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Marilynn (nee Cunningham). Loving father of Cheryl (James) Flaherty, Nancy (Vicky Morter), Robert (dear friend Lori Mathes), Keith (Linda), and the late David and Karner Jr. Proud grandfather of Chelsea (Brandon) Price, Christopher (Brittany) McKinnon, Patrick (Brittany) Flaherty, Ryan McKinnon, and Stephanie (Vito) Dolci; and six great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Francis McKinnon, Marvin (Joyce) McKinnon, and the late Kenneth McKinnon and Douglas McKinnon. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Undoubtedly, Karner's greatest passion was his family. Spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was his favorite pastime. He was well liked by all, and he will be dearly missed. Visitation will take place on Monday, April 4, from 2 - 8 p.m. (Rosary at 6:30 p.m.) at Wm Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke), Utica. Funeral Mass Tuesday, April 5, at 12:00 p.m. (visitation 11:30 a.m.) at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Road, Utica. Inunrment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
