Kenneth Engelmann

January 16, 1928 - November 2, 2021

Kenneth Rex Engelmann, of Sterling Heights, formerly of Shelby Township, passed away on November 2, 2021 at the age of 93. Ken is the cherished husband of 71 years to Millie; the loving father of Lynn (Gerry) LeFever, Curtis (Joyce) Engelmann, and Kyle Engelmann; the adored grandfather of 7 and the dear great-grandfather of 7. Ken was born in Flint, Michigan on January 16, 1928 to Carl and Marvella. Ken and Millie knew each other in rival high schools in Flint, MI. Ken Joined the Navy in 1945 and was awarded a GI Scholarship to study engineering at General Motors Technical Institute. There he earned his Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering. On July 28, 1950, Ken married the Love of his life, Mildred Marie Maule at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Flint. Millie helped guide him through college. Lynn Carol and Curtis Rex were soon born after their marriage, with Kyle arriving 7 years later…Surprise!!! Ken started working at Chevrolet Tech Center, in Warren MI, in the early 60's. He continued to work there until his retirement in 1987. During Ken's whole life he enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a patient and loving husband and father. A Christian man, he considered the Bible his guide and Jesus his example. He followed the Detroit Tigers his whole, blessed life, and he deserved a few more wins from them. Ken's family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at First United Methodist Church of Troy, 6363 Livernois, Troy, instate from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his service at 11:00 a.m. Please share a memory at www.SullivanFuneralDirectors.com
