Mary Ann "Nan" Wagner

December 5, 1937 - October 14, 2021

"Roamin' in the gloamin' by the bonnie banks o' Clyde, Roamin' in the gloamin' wi' ma lassie by ma side, When the sun has gone to rest, That's the time that we love best, Oh, it's lovely roamin' in the gloamin'." by Harry Lauder Mary Ann "Nan" Wagner was born in Greenock, Scotland on December 5, 1937 and died October 14, 2021. She raised three beautiful children who loved her very much. They are Alan (Leslie) Wagner of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, Paul (Stephanie) Wagner of Lone Tree, Colorado, and Geralyn (Michael) Bennett of Oakland, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Stanislaus Wagner, whom she married on October 26, 1957, and her long time partner after her husband's death, Arthur Parsons. She was cherished by her 7 grandchildren: Erica (Mitch) Reed, Aaron (fiancé Sidney Morden) Wagner, Dayna (Drew) Macbeth, Shane Wagner, Natalie Bullen, Alexandra (Joseph) Bundy, Samantha (fiancé Logan Worsh) Bennett and and 4 great grandchildren: Parker Reed, Lilly Reed, Presley Wagner, and Rowan Bundy. She was born to and preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Mellon. She was one of five loved children: pre-deceased by William, Margaret, James, and survived by John (Mickie) Mellon of New Baltimore. She was dearly loved by her in-laws, nieces and nephews. In addition to raising her family, she was floor manager at JC Penny's for 10 years and worked at the school system in Hazel Park for many years. Most of all she was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, nana, great grandma, friend, aunt, sister, and wife. She made us all laugh, teasing and joking with love. She knew how to use a well-placed expletive! She loved singing her Scottish songs and made us want to join in. Her children loved her Scottish mincemeat, her meatloaf, her poundcake, and her cheesecake. She was a long time member of the Commonwealth Club in Warren, Michigan where she had many friends. She was feisty, fiery, and absolutely beautiful. She had grace and humor and she is irreplaceable. Visitation at the Wm Sullivan and Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica Tuesday, October 19 from 2-8pm with a prayer service at 6 pm. Instate 9:30 am Wednesday, October 20 at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church 38750 Ryan Road (South of 17 Mile Road) Sterling Heights until time of mass 10:00 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery Clinton Township, Michigan. "Here's to the Green Oak that grew at the square; Here's to its roots that are still slumbering there; Here's to my townsmen whaure're they may be; I'm proud that I'm a branch o' the Green Oak Tree."
