Mary Neuman Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mary Rita Neuman, longtime resident of Macomb, formerly of Sterling Heights, passed away on May 14, 2022 at the age of 75. Mary was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 24, 1947 to Clyde and Kathleen Gauthier. On August 20, 1966, Mary married the love of her life, Sherwin Neuman in Detroit. Mary was the epitome of grace, beauty, kindness, love, positivity, and integrity. Everyone who knew her loved her dearly, as she was an incredibly devoted daughter, wife, mother, friend, and employee. She had a phenomenal sense of humor, and was known to get especially silly after 11 p.m. Mary was a lover of shoes, beautiful barns, nature, photography, sewing, traveling, bike riding and watercolor painting. She found joy in listening to music from John Denver, Placido Domingo, Neil Diamond, Abba, and Motown. Even in her final days, she loved dancing to the music on the radio. Mary will be greatly missed and remembered fondly for the love and smiles she so easily gave, and all the fun times she had with her family and friends. Mary is the loving wife of the late Sherwin; the cherished mother of Philip (Melissa) Neuman, Chris (Tonya) Neuman, and Amy (Ron) Neuman-Proffitt; the beloved grandmother of Max, Tyler, Courtney, Kailee, Justin, Miranda, Madison, Kennedy, Audrey, and Peyton; the adored great-grandmother of Alivia and Dean; and the dear sister of Margaret Gerbig, Barbara Gauthier, the late Brian Gauthier and the late Dennis Gauthier.
