Meredith A. Thompson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

MEREDITH ANN EVANS THOMPSON 12/8/1932 - 1/8/2022 Meredith peacefully passed holding her son's hand. Born to James and Ada Evans, Meredith grew up in Highland Park, Michigan where she received a BA from Wayne University, married and had her first child, Marshall. A second son, Wayne, was born after the family moved to New Mexico. Meredith stayed home to raise her children during their formative years. In her spare time, Meredith explored a lifelong interest in cooking, modifying recipes, and collecting cookbooks. Meredith attended the University of New Mexico and received a Master of Arts degree in 1973. She was a successful assistant to high level corporate executives. After taking an early retirement from PNM, she had a second career with Sandia National Labs, retiring in 2003. Meredith spent her final years doing what she loved most-- cooking, reading mystery novels, shopping, watching movies and spending time with friends and family. Above all, Meredith was a strong Christian and devoted mother. Her faith in God carried her through life's challenges. Meredith will be missed by her sons, Wayne (Manelli) of Monterey, CA, and Marshall (Marla) of Santa Fe, NM, granddaughters Brenna and Jennifer (Craig) and their children Tyler and Aaliyah Sinsabaugh. Per her wishes, Meredith will be buried near her parents and sister, Marilyn Frear, in Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak, Michigan.
