Patricia Ann Higgins arrived in this world on May 10th, 1941 to Jeanette and Edward Winczner. Patricia joined a growing family, which would eventually be comprised of six siblings Edward, Jeanie, Peggy, Sharon and Cherlyn (Mickey). The family resided in several locations during her formative years, including St. Clair Shores and Roseville, Michigan, where Patricia attended Roseville High School. Patricia married Lawrence Higgins on August 22, 1970. They were soon joined by their son Lawrence Higgins Jr (Hiedi). Then six years later, their daughter Kristine (Aaron Krueger). Patricia was fully engaged in her children's lives. She was a familiar face at their activities and schools, always willing to lend a hand. Patricia was referred by those closest to her as Patty, or Aunt Patty by her numerous nieces and nephews. Patricia was most content when surrounded by her loved ones. When her home was full, so was her heart. Her generous spirit was evident in her everyday life. Family gatherings and holidays were hallmarked by copious amounts of food and festive decorations not to mention laughter and the occasional impromptu dance lesson. Patricia lived life to the fullest all the while ensuring that those around her were cared for and content. Naturally, Patricia slipped effortlessly into the role of Grandma to six grandchildren (Samantha, Adam, Matthew, Nicole, Emma and Gabe) and Great Grandma to (Wesley and Theodore) She found joy in teaching them to cook, craft, and most importantly, to understand the importance of family. The impressions she left on their lives will be lasting. Ralph Waldo Emerson said: "The purpose of life is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well." Patricia without a doubt, lived and lived well. The void she leaves cannot be filled, nor would we want it to be.
