Richard F. Casanova Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Richard F. Casanova (June 1, 1944 - January 24, 2022) Richard F. Casanova, loving father, grandfather, friend, and partner, passed away on January 24th, 2022, at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, MI, from heart complications. He will be deeply missed by all. Richard was born and raised in Southeast Michigan, and was preceded in death by his parents, Frank & Alice Casanova, and the mother to three of his children, Louisa ("Lisa") Casanova (Pomilia). He is survived by many family members, including: Partner of 32 years, Diana Hudson. Siblings Rose Marie (Larry) Cox, Carol (Robert) Bruck, and Robert Casanova. Children Gina Casanova, Frank Casanova, Richard (Nicolina) Casanova, and Michael (Sarah) Hudson-Casanova. Grandchildren Briana, Dominic, Nicholas, and Giovanni. Richard graduated from St. Philip Neri High School in Detroit, MI in 1962. He had a rich love for music and played the drums as a young adult. Though he owned his own company in machine manufacturing and sales, his true passions lied on the golf course with his friends Bob, Gus, and Sal, cooking meals for his many loved ones, and traveling with his partner Diana. Richard lived an active lifestyle even into his later years, and loved biking, skiing, playing tennis, and golfing. He always had a love/hate relationship with the Detroit Lions, nicknaming them "the bums." He was famous for filling rooms with laughter, even in difficult situations. Memorial mass will be held at 9am on Monday, January 31st, at St. Michael's Catholic Church 40501 Hayes Road in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
