Robert "Bob" Cloud

August 26, 1956 - December 29, 2021

Robert (Bob) Cloud age 65, of Madison Heights, passed away on December 29, 2021. Bob was the beloved husband of Carol (Robinson,) of 41 years. Loving father of Patricia Michelsen (husband Jeff, grandchildren; Steven, Sophia, Eli, Elliott, Emma), Robert Cloud Jr. (wife Melissa, grandchildren; Dakota, Chelsea). He was an immensely proud grandfather! Bob was also a loving Brother/Brother-in-Law and Uncle/Great Uncle to Sister; Joyce Staudacher (Gary, Ryan/Krista, Amber, Kalia, Penelope, Maddox), Brother; John Cloud (Yolanda, Blake) and Sister; Jo Ann (Scott, Jimmy, Ashlee), Jim Robinson, and Barb Robinson, Todd Robinson. Bob also had several aunts, uncles, and cousins; special mention cousin/friend Dave Pfund that always made him laugh. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Lila Cloud and Grandparents, Henry, and Hattie Pfund. Bob left school in 10th grade and started his working career early in life at age 15 to help support the family and continued as a Tow Truck operator (Cloud’s Recovery), Repo-man, and Mechanic. Bob was a big man with a heart twice that size. His personality was a direct reflection of his, Mom (Lila), and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He loved to go north to Indian River (Mom’s retirement home). It was a place he; family and friends went for years to run their Dune Buggies, 4-wheelers, and motorcycles on the trails. The invite was always open to all who would bring their trailers and tents to spend a week/weekend. Many priceless memories for all. His philosophy was “the more the merrier”! As a boy and growing up, you could say Bob had many things missing in the way of a father and father figure. The way Bob used this sort of energy as a motivating pursuit to life, was nothing short of miraculous. Bob personifies the meaning of “Never giving up.” There are many endless stories and lasting memories. Of course, there were some not so good memories but the memories that would make everyone laugh far outweigh them all. Bob’s positive attitude and outlook on life was, very much the type you find and hear about in legendary great people all the time. In our lives, he was legendary and great. I am sure he has loved and touched the lives of many in the very same way. When Bob was made, they certainly broke the mold, there will never be another one like him. Thank you for being in our life, we will always love and miss you. Bob spent much of his time hanging out with friends fixing, re-building/restoring old cars. He looked forward annually for the Woodward Dream cruise. The Woodward cruise was something he did as a young man before it was the official Woodward dream cruise. It was a place where he could spend time with those he loved. He could tell you the name/make/model of every vehicle that went by and usually who owned them. As a tribute, everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite Woodward Dream Cruise Shirt as that is what he will be wearing. Visitation will take place on Friday, January 7th from 2–8 pm with more visitation Saturday, January 8th from 11am until the time of service, 1pm, at the funeral home: Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd., (4 blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak, Michigan 48067.
