Sandra A. Danaher

June 5, 1951 - April 26, 2022

Sandra Ann Danaher, a resident of Clawson and Royal Oak , passed away on April 26, 2022 at the age of 70. A daughter of Eugene and Doris Genrich, she was born on June 5, 1951 in Highland Park. Sandra held her first job at Sanders (and kept a jar of fudge in stock ever since). She cared for others through the Community Living Services of Oakland County, and shared her love of babies and children as a day care provider. Her greatest passion, however, was raising her family. Sandra was a mother to more than just her children. "Mama Sandy" saw the best in everyone and accepted any flaw. Selfless beyond measure, her home was always open to neighbors, friends, and family. Sandra was talented in crafts- she decorated for every holiday with her creations and sewed Halloween costumes for not only her children, but also her neighbors' children. She baked and crocheted blankets as well. Sandra was the first to arrive at a party and the last to leave. She had an appreciation for cheap whiskey and made her own Kahlua. Sandra enjoyed many compliments that she had "the best legs." At 65, Sandra had a near-death experience that brought about a new sense of fearlessness. She became an adventurer. Her travels took her from familiar places like "up north" in Oxford and Sanford, to California and Mexico. Sandra camped at the Joshua Tree National Park, hit the trails on a snowmobile, and rode every roller coaster she could at Legoland. Sandra lived her second chance to the fullest. She will be dearly missed. Loving mother of Andrew (Carrie), Kelly (Brian Fox) Baker, and Sean (Emily Selchan). Treasured grandmother of Owen, Gracie Baker, Donavan Fox, Vivian Fox, Micah Baker-Fox, Liam, and Levi. Dear sister of Barbara (Jeffrey) Schwartz. Former spouse of Alan Danaher. Cherished friend of Evie Flynn. Sandra was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mike Baker, and friend Patrick "Leo" Flynn. Family and friends will gather on Friday, April 29, at 10:00 am until time of ceremony at 11:00 am at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak, 48067. In keeping with Sandra's generous spirit, she chose to donate her remains to the University of Michigan Medical School to promote research and education. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the wishes of the family.
