January 12, 1980 - December 17, 2016
Scott (Geoffrey Scott Seymour II) was born in Pontiac, Michigan January 12, 1980 and unexpectedly passed on December 17, 2016 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan at 36 years old. Scott lived in Ferndale with his wife Amreen, their dog little boy dog, “Princess” Bison. Amreen and Scott are expecting their first child in February 2017. Scott’s parents, Geoffrey Scott Seymour and Carol Mann Seymour, were proud to bring home their almost 11 pound baby Scott to his first home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Scott’s “little” brother Ben was his first best friend and nemesis and remained his partner in crime. Scott was a bright and adventurous child who loved being outside finding gross things, making up his own games, and teaching his brother about nature and life. Scott was a curious person who never stopped learning and teaching himself and others. He graduated from Lahser High School in Bloomfield Hills in 1998, where he was an outstanding student, swimmer, and friend to many of whom he remained close. Scott graduated from the University of Michigan and his Dad couldn’t have been more pleased for him to be a Wolverine. True to his nature of being a life-long learner, Scott went on to earn his Teaching Certificate and Master’s Degree from Wayne State University, his Firefighter and EMT certificate, and was in the process of becoming a Paramedic. Scott married his wife Amreen Khan June 22, 2013, finally, 13 years after meeting, by a lake in West Michigan. Amreen and Scott united over their love of travel, adventure, and community involvement. Scott and Amreen traveled across the globe, including several countries in Africa, Asia, South America, the Caribbean, and more road trips than could be counted. Scott was a voice for the disenfranchised and was a fierce advocate for social justice issues, and was involved in Project Community, Greening of Detroit, Student Conservation Association, and several other organizations. Scott had such a lust for life that his hobbies and interests were countless and impossible to list. He loved to try new food, sky dive, snowboard, surf, bike, hunt, fish, motorcycle, hike, collect and make projects from yard sale finds, garden, tend to his plants, drive racecars, and do any other extreme or interesting activities that anyone could think of. Scott was wicked funny, and had a contagious laugh. Scott is survived by his large and loving family, wife Amreen Khan, baby coming in February 2017, parents Geoff and Carol Seymour, brother Ben Seymour and his girlfriend Julia Simmons, “Super Cousin” Hayley and her husband and Scott’s hunting/fishing buddy Jon Hauger and their children Jake and Lynnsey, “Super Cousin” Ashley Mann and her boyfriend Tim Bokovoy, cousins Lisa Johnston and her children Mackenzie, Hannah, and Kendall, Adrienne and Gary Hart, Nick and Beck Belill and their children Samuel, Kathryn, Hannah, and David, Nathan Belill, Justin and Tara Blaska and their children Jacob and Laura, Emily Blaska, Molly and Ray Bacon and their children Laura and Joseph, Amanda and Derek Elston and their sons Brayden and Wyatt, Dan and Beth Ann Mann and their children, Joel Mann and Will Verchereau, Narissa and Micheal Metully, Luke Permoda and Frank Klim, Aunts and Uncles Ann MacDougal, Mary Belill, Martha and Phil Blaska, Joel and Jane Mann, Paul Mann and Becky Van Zant, Nancy Davis, Mark and Tina Mann. Parents-in-law Melinda and Ron Adams, Waheed Khan, grandmother-in-law, Judy Philipps, sister and brother-in-law Rania Khan and Jeff Ekegren.
