Thomas Beltz

Thomas J. Beltz, a beloved husband, father, and member of the community, peacefully passed away on August 4, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 87 years old. Thomas was born on April 11, 1936, in Detroit, MI, the son of Walter and Mary (Cibulka) Beltz. He spent his childhood in Detroit and attended East Detroit High School, graduating in June of 1954. After high school, Thomas pursued his passion for craftsmanship and enrolled at Henry Ford Community College to study to become a Diemaker. Throughout his life, Thomas was actively involved in his community and devoted much of his time to the St. Vincent of DePaul Knights of Columbus, where he was a respected 3rd and 4th degree Knight. His dedication to service and his commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others were truly remarkable. Thomas leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for his family to hold close to their hearts. He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Beltz, and his two children, Kelly Willis and Daniel (Liz) Beltz. Additionally, he is fondly remembered by his step-children: Michelle (Ron) Baumgartner, Colleen (Scott) Cadeux, Mathew (Tina) Casey, and Lisa (Joe) Petrella. His presence will be deeply missed by his six grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and great-grand daughter Dakota all of whom were touched by his warmth and kindness. Thomas was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Beltz, and his parents, Walter and Mary Beltz. He now rests in peace, reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him. Funeral services to honor and remember Thomas will be held at St. Ephrem Catholic Church on Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society and The Salvation Army, two organizations that were close to Thomas's heart and align with his dedication to helping others.
