Thomas M. Dembeck

June 23, 1960 - November 11, 2021

Thomas M. Dembeck, age 61, passed away on November 11, 2021, after a long 3.5-year battle of cancer. He is survived by his daughter, Alicia Dembeck, his son, Paul Dembeck, and former wife Renee Dembeck (Lord). Survived by his parents, Thomas P. Dembeck Jr., and Virginia Dembeck (Domzal), sister Deborah (Mark) Peterson, sister Lora Adam, sister Julie (Michael) Kelvin, brother Anthony (Carolyn) Dembeck. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Michael G. Adam. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Foremost, Tom loved the Lord. He quoted Scripture and trusted in God's word. He was always ready to share his hope and faith with others. He ardently loved his children and was immensely proud of them. Tom enjoyed life and watching his children grow and succeed in all that they do and encouraging those around him with his laughter and smile. Tom loved his parents and family and enjoyed working alongside his Dad for years in the Plumbing business. As a member of a large loving Polish family, Tom enjoyed family gatherings, generally around food and conversation. Tom loved watching his Tiger's play, NASCAR races, and Michigan football games. Tom was also an avid hunter and loved being in the woods. There was never a dull moment with Tom, for he always had a fact to share about everything and anything. He was the all-around handy-man, and everyone's go-to guy to call for help. There was nothing he couldn't fix especially when it came to plumbing. If there was a leak, Tom would find it and fix it. His signature quote was, "If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life." Tom truly lived by doing what he loved. He will be greatly missed. The family admires his courageous attitude as he battled cancer, surviving longer than the doctors anticipated. This is a testament to how he treated each day. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to The National Forest to plant a tree in memory of Tom: https://support.nationalforests.org/give/298613/#!/donation/checkout . A special shout out to the staff at McLaren Hospice-thank you for the outstanding care given to Tom and support provided to the Dembeck Family. Tom's family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, November 18 at the Wm. Sullivan Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, November 19 at St. Matthias Church at 12311 19 Mile Road, Sterling Heights, MI, instate from 9:30 a.m. until the time of his mass at 10:00 a.m. Please share a memory at www.SullivanFuneralDirectors.com.
