Thomas Joseph Mearnic, age 90, of Hazel Park, passed away on April 27, 2022. He was born on June 6, 1931 in Nanty-Glo, PA to Joseph and Emma Mearnic. Tom was a proud U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany during the Korean War era. After his service, he moved to Michigan where he enjoyed a long career as a model maker with Fisher Body division of General Motors. In his free time, he loved playing golf, following Tigers baseball, and hunting both Up North and in Pennsylvania. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and following all of their sports. Beloved husband of 65 years to the late Doris Mearnic. Loving father of Craig (Susan) Mearnic, Glen (Cynthia) Mearnic, Paulla Mearnic and the late Bruce Mearnic. Loving and proud grandfather of Nicholas (Paige), Chelsea, Terri, Tammy, Nicole; and great-grandfather of Adam, Ryan, Haley, Melody, Charlie, Danny and Kylie. Dear brother of Marvin (Patti) Mearnic and the late Dolores (James) Chapman and Mildred (Ernie) Sekerak. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 3, from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Wednesday, May 4, from 9:00 a.m. until time of service, 10:00 a.m., at Wm.
