William Richard Sirr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William Richard Sirr, age 94, of Berkley, passed away on May 25, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Barbara. Loving father of Jilinda (Keith) Molnar, Karen (the late David) Hardy, Lee Ann (David) Williams, and the late Rick Sirr; and father-in-law of Sue Ann Sirr. Proud grandfather of eleven and great-grandfather of fourteen. Bill graduated with the last class to attend Henry Ford Trade School. He then served his country in the United States Coast Guard and later began a long career with Chrysler Corporation. In his free time, he was an avid beekeeper. Notably, in 2021 he was honored by the Michigan Beekeepers Association as the oldest living beekeeper in Michigan. Beekeeping was undoubtedly his passion, and he was quite fond of nature and animals in general. Over years past, Bill also loved to travel with Barbara, attend church, tell stories, and spend time with his grandkids. Perhaps most of all, he absolutely loved to go out to eat and enjoy a meal with others. These meals with him will be dearly missed. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 31 from 3 - 8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 1, at 11:00 (visitation 10:00 a.m.) at Cana Lutheran Church, 2119 Catalpa Dr., Berkley. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit.
