Anthony Peter Cracchiolo

Cracchiolo, Anthony "Sonny" Age 75, December 3, 2014. Beloved son of the late Antonio and Erma. Loving brother of Dorene Stephen Salerno and Rosalie Tom Kniga. Dear uncle of Nino Kim Salerno, Lisa Dave Santi, Cathy Dale Oldani, Steve Michele Salerno, Tim Carrie Fuca Kniga, and Aimee Mike Johnson. Great uncle of 6 great nieces and nephews and 2 great great nephews. Anthony Sonny Cracchiolo was a great member of the Cracchiolo Family. Sonny was given the nick name of "Sonny Boy" early on in his life and it stuck; even at the ripe old age of 75 Sonny told the nurses at St. John's to call him Sonny Boy! Perseverance was a quality that Sonny held. You could always find Sonny with a big smile on his face even with all of the handicaps and challenges that he endured during his lifetime. Taking care of his momma by running errands, going to the store, and pulling weeds for her gave Sonny a sense of pride and purpose in his everyday life. After 36 years of work Sonny was the longest running employee ever to retire from Social Resources Incorporated; he was so proud of his longevity and the work he performed there. On warm summer afternoons you could find Sonny outside listening to music and knitting. Knitting rugs together for his family not only made Sonny smile but it connected Sonny to each and every one of us. Just like his rugs Sonny was woven into the fabric of each of our lives. He attended every birthday, christening, communion, graduation, prom, wedding, and family get together that took place. Sonny didn't even know how tightly he was tied to all of us. Sonny would look forward every summer to bonding with the guys in cabin 2 at Camp Fowler. It reminded him of the many years he spent hanging out with his best friend Casimir drinking coffee, listening to Tiger games, and watching John Wayne movies. When attending Camp Fowler became too difficult for Sonny fate intervened and brought Paul his new roommate into his life. Paul fulfilled that buddy void Sonny was missing. Every family member has a "Sonny" story and a "Sonnyism", please ask one of his two sisters Dorene or Rosalie how well Sonny could tell time or count money or one of his many nieces and nephews on well he could kick a soccer ball or bash a ball with a bat we'd love to share them with you! We are going to miss that big smile Sonny Boy!!!! Funeral Friday December 5th, 10:00 a.m. instate 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Faustina Catholic Church, 14025 E. 12 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48088. Memorials appreciated to the wishes of the family.
