Anthony Milko

Anthony R. Milko April 5, 1935 - December 23, 2023 Anthony R. Milko, a devoted family man, a diligent worker, and a passionate outdoorsman, passed away on December 23, 2023, at the age of 88. His life was a testament to dedication, love, and an adventurous spirit. Born in Cambria County, PA, to Stephen Milko and Rose Brancato Milko, Tony established his roots and, in 1954, married the love of his life, Janet Lee Adams, in Pennsylvania. Together, they became longtime residents of Madison Heights, MI, where they built a life filled with love, family, and community. Tony dedicated many years of hard work as a salesperson at Michigan Sanitation in Flint before his well-deserved retirement. His dedication extended beyond the workplace; he was a committed member of St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church. Volunteering his time, he graciously assisted as an usher and greeter at Mass, embodying his faith through service to others. An avid outdoorsman, Tony enjoyed the camaraderie in hunting, fishing, and archery. He had a deep appreciation for music, often finding solace in the tunes of classic easy listening artists. His favorite movies and television shows were old Westerns, with his favorite actor being John Wayne. Anthony proudly served in the Army National Guard, demonstrating his commitment to his country. He was the beloved husband of Janet, who passed away in December 2002, a loving father to Rose (Donald) Helinski, and the late Anthony S. Milko. He was the cherished father-in-law of Janice Milko and a proud grandfather to Teresa Milko (Pat Hulihan), Anthony W. (Megan) Milko, Kara (Robert) Eddy, Jenna Helinski (fiancé Daniel Chase), and a great grandfather to Patrick, Brielle, Mallory, and Jaxon. Anthony was also a dear brother to John (the late Ann) Milko and Kathy (Gary Tessier). Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share fond memories during the visitation on Friday from 2-8 pm at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, located at 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, with in-state viewing at 10:30 am until the time of Mass at 11 am at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church. Tony will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family, his love for the outdoors, and his dedication to serving his community.
