Bonnie L. Meyer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Lee Meyer, who passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025 at the age of 87. Bonnie Lee Pine was born on May 15, 1938, in Michigan to parents Violas and Elva Pine. Bonnie spent her early years living in Detroit before moving to the family farm in Unionville. She graduated from St. Mary's Nursing School in Saginaw and worked as a registered nurse, especially enjoying her years caring for newborns in the maternity ward. Bonnie married L. William (Bill) Meyer in 1962 and they made their home in Bloomfield Hills where they raised three daughters. As her daughters grew older, Bonnie returned to college to earn a master's degree in Interior Design. She went on to establish her own successful business, Meyer Interiors, and was a proud member of ASID. Following the death of her husband in 1993, she managed his business while continuing to grow her own. She was truly a modern woman! A devout Catholic, Bonnie was active in the ladies guilds at St. Regis and was a strong supporter of her children's catholic education. Bonnie enjoyed her home on a lake in Bloomfield Hills, international travel, art museums, history, Lake Michigan beaches, cheering on all the Detroit sports teams, family gatherings, her grandchildren and an occasional martini. Bonnie's outgoing and expressive nature made her a captivating storyteller, and her family often requested their favorite stories to be told again and again. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, L. William (Bill) Meyer; her sister, Janice Wall; her sister and brother-in-law Kally and John Maharg; and her son-in-law Jason Cirone. She is survived by her daughters: Elizabeth Meyer, Julie (Patrick) McFarland and Kristen Cirone. She is also survived by her brother Michael (Tori) Pine; her sister-in-law Dr. Margaret Meyer; grandchildren, William, Sean, Brooke, Celia and Mason, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial Mass for Bonnie will be held on Tuesday, August 5, at 10:30 a.m. (visitation 10:00) at St. Regis Catholic Church, 3695 Lincoln Rd, in Bloomfield Hills. The family would like to thank the staff of the Arbor Inn for their compassionate care of Bonnie in her final months. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bonnie's memory may be made to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph, 1820 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 48207 or to a local food pantry of the donor's choice.
