Cathy Klare Suda

One with God Cathy Klare Suda, loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 14, 2023, at the age of 74. Her love of life, her incredible Catholic faith, her love of children and her effervescent spirit came through to anyone who she met or spoke to. Born on May 6, 1949, in Detroit, MI, she was the loving daughter of Thomas C. Suda and Kathrya M. Suda, and beloved sister of Thomas "Tommy" Suda and Cynthia "Cindy" Suda (Nuspel). She grew up in Royal Oak, MI, and attended Dondero High School. After high school, she attended St. Luke's Nursing School (Northen Michigan University) in Marquette, MI. Upon graduation, she began work at Children's Hospital of Michigan as a pediatric nurse, an area of healthcare she was passionate about her entire life. Cathy was a dedicated nurse, working in various locales throughout her life as she moved around the country with her family. She worked in local physician offices in Saginaw and Holland, MI, as well as Hospice of Holland. While in Holland, Cathy returned to get her BSN from Grand Valley State University - an accomplishment that both she and her family were extremely proud of. She returned home to the Detroit area to help care for her amazing father, Tom, while also working as an administrator at Children's Hospital of Michigan. She continued that work until her retirement from nursing in 2016, She was a proud "CHM OG" Alumni member, and she loved her colleagues and her work she did at CHM. Cathy was a woman of deep faith, with a resolute love of God - especially for those in the priesthood. She prayed for everyone often, but especially for the priests who "help lead us on the path to God." She was a member of the Legion of Mary, and it would be impossible for you not to find her without a rosary nearby. She was a member of St. Anne Parish in Warren, MI, and she often visited other churches in Detroit for service. Cathy leaves behind loving sons Patrick and John, her grandson Stanley, daughters-in-law Elizabeth Jane and Carolyn, her niece Susan, and numerous cousins. She also leaves an incredible network of friends who loved her and her love of life and the Lord. In lieu of flowers, donations are welcome to be made to St. Anne's Parish in her name at www.parish.st-anne.net/ways-to-give Friends and family are invited to pay respects and share their loving memories of Cathy on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 4-8 pm at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, located at 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak, MI. A funeral mass will take place at St. Anne Parish, 32000 Mound Rd, Warren, MI, on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the service to begin at 10 a.m.
