Chester "Chet" Nowicki Age 77, Passed away October 19, 2016. Beloved husband of Patricia Nowicki (nee Dahl) for 56 years; Loving father of David (Suzanne) Nowicki, Diane (Glen) DeGrendel, Donna (Jason) Gilbert, and Denise (Matthew) Radhs; Dearest grandfather to Robert (Kerrie), Laura (Donald), Jake, Jesse (James), and Kelli; Amazing great-grandfather to Evelyn. Chet is survived by siblings Lillian (Joe) Szlaga, Eugene (Pat) Nowicki, and Theresa (Ron) Koprincz and brother-in-law Tom (Jan) Dahl. Chet is preceded in death by siblings Margaret (Emil) Szlaga, Rita (Bernard) Martin, Edward Nowicki, Delores (Stanley Kowalski, and Loraine (Hank) Drost. Chet was born February 27, 1939 in Baseline, Michigan, and raised in Centerline, Michigan. He is the son of Leo and Pelagia (nee Skowronek) Nowicki. He met his wife, Pat, at Ronnie's Drive-in Restaurant in Centerline. They were married in 1960 at Ascension Church. He was employed at Automotive Molding and Ford Motor Company. He retired from the City of Sterling Heights. Chester had a passion for camping, biking, and video recording family gatherings. Most of all, he enjoyed putting together puzzles with his beloved wife. After retirement, he and his wife enjoyed spending springtime in Orlando, Florida at Walt Disney World. They spent their summers at Poncho's Pond RV Park in Ludington, Michigan. At the campground he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the pool and hot tub area. He enjoyed walking to the lighthouse, along the beaches of Lake Michigan, and along the trails at Ludington State Park. Most of all he enjoyed going to dinner at the House of Flavors. Maybe not for dinner, but definitely ice cream. Chester's family will receive guests on Sunday October 23rd, at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks east of Van Dyke), Utica, from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. There will be a rosary service held at 7 p.m. Sunday. A funeral mass will take place at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church, 48115 Schoenherr Road, Shelby Township, at 10 a.m. with an in-state starting at 9:30 a.m. Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery.
