Delon V. Ferhadson

Delon Vahram Ferhadson, age 91, of Royal Oak, passed away on December 16, 2024. He was born on June 14, 1933 to Vahram and Seeranoosh Ferhadson in Detroit, Michigan. Delon was raised in Detroit and graduated from Pershing High School. As a very young boy, he cherished time in the kitchen with his mother, helping her prepare traditional Armenian dishes-a passion he carried into adulthood. Delon later taught his wife, Sheila, how to make these intricate recipes, ensuring the family traditions lived on. As a young man, he worked as a caddy at Oakland Hills Country Club, where he developed a strong work ethic that would endure throughout his lifetime. During his early professional years following high school, he specialized in wet plaster work for various churches, malls and homeowners throughout the city. He would ultimately transition into a long and successful career as a tool and die maker with General Motors, where he worked for forty years before retiring at the age of 70. But even in retirement, Delon remained active and engaged, always finding something to fix, tinker with, or improve. In 1999, Delon purchased his beloved cottage in Lakeport, where he spent his summers from May through October. A true lover of the water, he enjoyed boating and jet skiing, staying active on Lake Huron well into his later years. Weekends during his children's younger days were spent on Lake St. Clair, creating memories that would last a lifetime. His passion for the water and the joy it brought him were constants throughout his life. Delon was a natural tinkerer, happiest when surrounded by his tools in the garage, fixing, rigging, or inventing something new. He had an unstoppable energy and a generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand. Even at the beach, where his family gathered often over the years, Delon would spend just enough time to see everyone get settled before heading off to help someone with a project or task-he simply couldn't sit still. Above all, Delon loved his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy. His heart was fullest when everyone was together, and he cherished the moments spent surrounded by loved ones. Delon will be remembered as the beloved husband of the late Sheila Margaret Ferhadson. Loving father of Kevin Ferhadson, Sheila Ferhadson, and the late Kirk (survived by Tracy) Ferhadson. Proud grandfather of Kirk Jr. Ferhadson, Riley Ferhadson, Maren Ferhadson, Thorin Ferhadson, Braden Ferhadson, and the late Lauren Ferhadson. Visitation for Delon will be held on Saturday, December 28, from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral service, 1 p.m., at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (four blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak. Interment will follow at Roseland Park Cemetery in Berkley.
