Edward E. Campbell

Edward E. Campbell, age 92, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025, in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Born on November 15, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the beloved son of the late Douglas and Lorene (née Schmidt) Campbell. A proud graduate of St. Francis Xavier High School in Detroit, Class of 1950. Ed went on to build a successful career as an engineer with General Motors, dedicating 33 years before retiring in December 1987. His hard work and commitment were reflected not only in his profession but in all areas of his life. A man of deep Catholic faith, Ed was a devoted member of the St. Lawrence Knights of Columbus Council #2950, where he found both community and purpose. His faith guided his actions, and his love for family was evident in everything he did. He was an avid sports enthusiast who enjoyed cheering on his beloved Detroit Lions and Tigers. In his free time, he found joy in golfing, bowling, working on puzzles, and playing card games with friends and family. Edward was the loving husband of the late MaryLou Campbell (née Whitney) for 40 years and the late Maryann Campbell (née Steinhebel) for 25 years. He was a devoted father to Dr. Margaret Campbell PhD (the late Michael Czechowski), Elizabeth (Keith) Bock, Mark (Judi) Campbell, Steven (Sue) Campbell, and the late Deborah Campbell. He was a cherished stepfather to Roger Bock, Karen (Michael) Reaves, Janet (Jon) Wurges, and the late Diane Feinroth, as well as a beloved stepfather-in-law to Martin Feinroth. Edward was a proud grandfather to Joshua (Sarah), Brandon, Andrew (Karolina), Nicholas (Tina), Andrea (Jon), William, Ryan (Ashley), Matthew (Camille), David (Brittney), Kelli (Stephen), Ryan (Beth), Jes, and Sean. He was also a step-grandfather to Amber, Jerome (Kyla), Andrew, Christopher (Jess), Joseph, Victoria, and Tyler. His legacy lives on through his many great-grandchildren: Annabelle, Frederick, Nicholas Jr., Olivia, Dylan, Madison, Sophia Grace, Lily, Hunter, Grayson, Lucy, Lakelyn, Logan, Aiden, Skylar, Colton, Blakely, and Caroline. He was also a proud step-great-grandfather to Lillian, Violet, Clayton, Ryland, and Kaylnn, with one great-great-grandchild on the way. He was a dear brother of Loretta (Ray) Brennan and was preceded in death by his siblings Gerald (Claire) Campbell, Victor (Carol) Campbell, and Rosemary (Robert) Richardson. Ed's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of faith, family, and perseverance will live on through the countless lives he touched. Family and friends will gather to honor Edward with a visitation at the Wm Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke) Utica on Friday, March 21 from 2-8 pm with a St. Lawrence Knights of Columbus Council #2950 rosary at 7 pm. Instate 11:30 am on Saturday, March 22, 202,5 at St. Isidore Catholic Church 18203 23 Mile Road , Macomb Township until time of mass 12pm (Noon).
