Elaine Taylor

Elaine Taylor 84 years passed on Thursday due to complications from a series of strokes and subsequently, dementia. Her beloved husband Ed preceded her in death along with her dear son Eddie, who died soon after he was born. Elaine was married to Ed for 64 years and together they raised four daughters; Linda Don Michie with daughter Megan Anne Austin Michie Gross and son Matthew Michie; Nancy Bob Phillips with daughters Allison Saturley, Renee Saturley-Cox, Heather Bill Hoerauf, and son Jason Phillips; Anne Taylor; Sharon Thomas deceased Taylor Fiore with daughter Alayna, sons Dominic Mellisse Fiore, Daniel Yolandi Fiore, Douglas Jill Fiore, Dennis Fiore and his fiance, Sarah Haase; and a son Steve Sharon Taylor. Elaine also had 12 great grandchildren River, Alexis, Amber, Amanda, Adam, Michael, Alicia, Eli, Abbie, Remy, Rory, Robbie, Emelia, Elliott, Addison, Christian, and Carter deceased. Elaine is also survived by her sister Ramona Kraemer and her brother Jerry Hittler. Visitation will be from 10 am to 11 am followed by the memorial service and a luncheon at the Woodside Bible Church, 6600 Rochester Road Troy, MI 48085, located 1/2 mile south of M-59. In memory of Elaine Taylor donations can be made to Season's Hospice 27355 John R road Madison Heights, MI 48071 and flowers may be sent to Woodside Bible Church for Tuesday's memorial. Elaine was very charismatic and evoked a particular brand of magic on everyone she met. She led life by example; when others needed help she was there with her charitableness, deep kindness, and the human generosity she always showed with her family and friends. Elaine was a long time member of Knox EPC Church where she worked in "circles" and served many years as a co-leader in pioneer girls, as well as helping with funeral luncheons and many other volunteer positions. She was the personification of grace, courage, and goodness throughout her life. Elaine showed us how remaining positive can help us get through life's biggest challenges. When she was confronted with the news of her ischemic strokes and the inevitable decline of her mental health she was devastated and frightened but eventually accepted it by saying, "you have to keep going, you just have to do it." She lived by the verse Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Elaine said she would trust the Lord with her future and she prayed that she could remember at least that verse as she traveled down the road of dementia. Elaine was always trying to improve herself despite her difficult medical diagnosis. Elaine chose to live until death to the best of her abilities. Her daughter Sharon stated, "She was always a class act throughout her prolonged illness and throughout her life." Elaine was an emotionally strong and very courageous woman who never gave up. Above all we give thanks for the life of a woman we are all so proud to call our Mother. Elaine was unique, incredibly kind, loving, and always a great joy to be with. Her zeal for living and giving was evident each day of her life. Mother, we will celebrate your strength and love always; your beauty both internal and external will never be extinguished from our minds.
