Evelyn Culling

Evelyn Louise Culling (nee Jorgensen) was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 21, 1930 and she was taken to be with our Lord on March 4, 2016. Her father was Anton Christian Jorgensen and her mother was Valborg Laura Jorgensen (nee Jensen). She had 3 siblings, Elna Kaye (nee Jorgensen), Tony Jorgensen and Betty Hathaway (nee Jorgensen). Evelyn was married to Kenneth E. Culling and they had 2 daughters, Laura Lowe-Gleason (Matthew) (nee Culling) and Kelly Morgan (nee Culling). She had 5 grandchildren: Heather, Holly, Anna, Kenny and Brett. Evelyn was a lifelong resident of Royal Oak, she was very proud of her Danish heritage and LOVED her family. Evelyn and Ken were sweethearts for 60 years, they had that once in a lifetime love that is so rare and had the most beautiful, loving and devoted relationship. Always holding hands, always leaving love notes to each other, always each other's best friend and forever in love. She touched the life of everyone that she met. She was a loving and wonderful mother, grandma, aunt and friend. She had a way of making everyone feel special, needed, beautiful and worthwhile. She always went above and beyond to a make everyone just feel loved....she was sunshine. She loved a celebration and said that life was to be celebrated! She loved her independence, to be able to go shopping, to garage sales, she enjoyed auctions with her husband. She always had a strong love of horses and often spoke of the riding pants that her family bought for her when she was little. She loved to go for rides with my dad and to travel when they could...they always had a story! She enjoyed the water and watching the ships. She was a gentle, kind, loving soul and will forever be remembered, loved and missed....forever in our hearts....our sweet mom......Evelyn Louise Culling.....we will love you, always. Memorial visitation Thursday 10 a.m. until the time of service 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Royal Oak. Inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
