George Geisler

George Geisler of Utica Michigan, entered the presence of his Savior on August 7, 2026. Despite some health challenges in recent years, he trusted the Lord's plan and found daily comfort in Psalm 91:1-2 - "Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him." George was born on October 25, 1951, in Detroit Michigan. He graduated from Stevenson High School in Sterling Heights Michigan, in 1969 and then began his 35-year career with Chrysler. George married Diane Geisler (Kraft), on June 30, 1973. Over the course of fifty-three years, he was the love of her life, confidant, and best friend and would often challenge her to a game of Scrabble. Together, they raised a family and cultivated a home filled with love and laughter. He always put his family first - helping with homework and playing sports with his children when they were little and lending a hand with painting and little projects as they moved into their first homes. He delighted in his granddaughters, whether it was attending their extracurricular activities, sharing a sweet treat, or just simply being together. He was a man who loved the Lord, and he leaves a legacy of faith that continues throughout the generations. George could often be found on the golf course, playing with family and friends. He also passed his knowledge and love of the game onto others while coaching both boys' and girls' golf for Lutheran High School North, winning back-to-back state championships with the girls' team in 2016 and 2017. After his retirement from Chrysler, he worked part-time at Cracklewood Golf Course as a starter, where he thoroughly enjoyed driving around the greens and chatting with employees and golfers alike. He also worked part-time at Wm. Sullivan And Son Funeral Home in Utica, where he created many strong and lasting friendships. In addition, he found enjoyment in playing cards, whether it was a competitive game of euchre or simply Uno with his grandchildren. One of his most favorite ways to spend his free time was watching Hallmark movies. Even if it was a rerun, he would say, "This is a good one! Let's watch it!" George is survived by his wife Diane; his children Andrea (Michael) Seaton and Kevin (Anna) Geisler; his granddaughters Mackenzie, Emery, Evelyn, and Lucy; his sister Nadine Geisler; and many more loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nettie Geisler, and his sister, Sharon Makohon. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 11th, from 2:00pm until 8:00pm. at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. (3 Blks E. of Van Dyke), Utica. A celebration of life service will be held the following day, August 12th, with instate at 10:00am and service at 11:00am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 45160 Van Dyke Avenue, in Utica.
