Glen Cline

Glen Cline, 93, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on October 18, 1932, in Flat Top, West Virginia, Glen was a man whose life was defined by devotion to his family, his faith, his country, and the values he carried with him from the hills of down home, as he lovingly called the South throughout his life. Glen was the cherished husband of the late Rose Cline, whom he was married to for over 59 years. Together they built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and unwavering commitment. Their marriage was a beautiful example of true partnership, filled with care, laughter, sacrifice, and enduring love. Glen’s dedication to Rose and to his family was evident in everything he did, and he treasured every moment spent with those he loved most. He was the beloved son of the late Rufus and Effie Cline. He is survived by his brother, Roger Cline (Debra), with whom he shared a lifelong bond. A proud American, Glen honorably served in the United States Army after being drafted during the Korean War. He earned his Quartermaster outfit during his service, something he carried with great pride throughout the years. Glen loved his country deeply and embodied the quiet strength and humility of his generation. Family was always the center of Glen’s world. He leaves behind his loving children: Dave (Tamy) Cline, Tony Cline, Jeff (Lori) Cline, Gary (Lynne) Cline, and Kim (Tod) Mosser. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to his life. Glen found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. He loved trips up north, especially driving his golf cart at Indian Lake, where many cherished memories were made with family and friends. He also enjoyed visiting West Virginia and never lost his deep love for the South and the place where his story began. No matter where life took him, West Virginia remained in his heart. Those who knew Glen will remember his steady presence, kind heart, strong work ethic, and deep love for his family. He was the kind of man who showed love not only in words, but through sacrifice, loyalty, and always being there when he was needed most. His legacy lives on through the family he adored and the countless memories shared sitting on the front porch or his La-Z-Boy enjoying the company of family and friends. Glen had a loving personality and could talk to anyone, making them feel as though they were part of his family. He had a warm presence that was inviting to all who met him. Though he will be deeply missed, Glen’s love, wisdom, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him forever. Visitation for Glen will be held Thursday, May 21, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road, Utica, Michigan 48317 (3Blks E. of Van Dyke) with a funeral service beginning at 5:00 p.m. Glen will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
