Jean Williams

Jean Williams, born Jean Harvey, came into the world on June 9, 1935, in Highland Park, Michigan, the daughter of Marian (née Trembath) and John Harvey. She lived a life filled with family, faith, friendship, service, and creativity. Jean met Ronald Williams of Royal Oak, Michigan, dancing at the British American Club, and on June 10, 1955, they were married. They shared a remarkable 71 years of marriage fostering a lifetime of love. She was a woman with a variety of interests. She worked as a department manager at J.L. Hudson's in Detroit in the 1950s and found many ways to stay involved in her community. She enjoyed bowling throughout her life and served as president of the Methodist Women's Bowling League for many years, sharing her skill and enthusiasm for the sport by teaching others. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #392. Her faith was another important part of her life. Jean served as superintendent of the children's Sunday School programs at Woodlawn Church of God and Warner Memorial Church of God. She loved teaching the children and was also a congregational song leader. Jean also spent time working with children at Longfellow Elementary School as a lunchroom and playground monitor. Her involvement was never simply about holding a position; she enjoyed being with people, helping, teaching, and contributing wherever she could. Outside of work, church, and community activities, Jean was an avid camper and traveler who loved discovering new places and making memories along the way. Her creative side found expression in crafts and crocheting. But the greatest joy of her life was her family. Nothing compares to the happiness she found in her husband, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She cherished the time she spent with them and took great pride in watching each of them grow into their own lives. Jean is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ron; her daughters, Pamela Magee (Michael) and Sandra Robb (Rocky Yahn); her grandchildren, Avery Magee, Erin Fay Magee, Cidney Page (Loren), Caleb D. Magee (Autumn Carden), Alexander Robb, and Talon Robb (Brittany); and her great-grandchildren, Devin and Lucas Smith, Jacob and Lela Burke, Caleb M. and Corbin Magee, Dominic, Kane and Kai Robb, and Hannah Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marilyn Shaver, and her brother John Harvey. Jean leaves behind 91 years of memories. To her family, she was the person whose presence became part of the fabric of their lives. The memories she created with them will remain long after her passing. Visitation for Jean will be held Friday, September 11, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of the service 11:00 am at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak. Burial will take place at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.
