Jeffrey J. Albrecht

Jeffrey J. Albrecht, a life enthusiast with a passion for family, music, photography, and education, passed away on August 4, 2023. He was 63 years old. Jeff met the love of his life, Katherine Brubaker, in 1975 during an educational tour of Germany. Their exceptional German language skills earned them the trip, and fate brought them together. Eight years later, destiny intervened again, reuniting them. On September 20, 1986, they exchanged vows at the Martha Mary Chapel at Greenfield Village, sealing their love in marriage. Jeff pursued education at the University of Cincinnati and Oakland Community College. His passion for learning and teaching led him to become a tutor at Oakland Community College, where he shared his wisdom with others. When their daughter, Margaret, came into the world, Jeff embraced the role of "Mr. Mom" with open arms, nurturing and caring for her until she reached middle school. A special bond formed between father and daughter over their shared love for music. Both adept clarinet and sax players, they played together in the Birmingham Concert Band for a number of years. This year they marked a milestone by performing together in the 45th-anniversary concert of the Birmingham Concert Band. Jeff enjoyed photography and Ham radio, pursuing both hobbies for many years. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Katherine "Kathy" Albrecht, and their daughter, Margaret (Eddie Sundra) Albrecht. Jeffrey was the cherished son of Joyce and the late Joseph Albrecht, and a caring brother to Linda (Paul) Massiello, and uncle to nieces Emily and Molly. In addition, his faithful companions, Benny, Skeeter, and granddog, Maizy, will keenly feel his absence. A memorial visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 23, from 3-8 pm, with a sharing of cherished memories at 7 pm, at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, located at 705 W. 11 Mile Rd. (4 blocks E. of Woodward), Royal Oak. In memory of Jeff's generous spirit, contributions to the National Kidney Foundation, Birmingham Concert Band, or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) would be appreciated.
