John Dale Vredenburg Jr.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a truly remarkable man, a loving husband, devoted father, proud Papa, and loyal friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew him. He was a man with a truly golden heart, known for his compassion, generosity, and unwavering love for his family. Above all else, he cherished the time he spent with those closest to him. He was a devoted husband to Tawny N. Vredenburg (Burkett). He built a life centered around love, loyalty, and family. He was the proud father of three wonderful children, Hannah N. Hardy (Benjamin), John D. Vredenburg III (Jacqueline), and Joseph F. Vredenburg. His children were the center of his world, and he took immense pride in watching them grow and build lives of their own. He was also a deeply proud Papa to William, Daniel, and Olivia Hardy, children of Hannah and Benjamin. His grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He was the beloved son of John Dale Vredenburg Sr. and Mary Jane Vredenburg, and a loving brother to his sisters, Holly H. Breach and Marta Smith. His family also included the animals he loved so dearly. He shared a special bond with his beloved dogs, L.J. and Ghetto, who were truly part of the family through and through. His love for animals extended to his grand-pups as well: Copper and Penny (Hannah), Louie and Levi (Johnny), and Moonstone (Joey), his cherished grand-cat, who also held a special place in his heart. A very hard worker throughout his life, he first worked as an electrician through IBEW Local 58, where he developed the skills and pride in his craft that he carried with him throughout his career. He later dedicated 25 years of his life to Ford Motor Company, where he worked proudly as an electrician and was a proud member of the United Auto Workers, Local 600. He took great pride in his work and in doing a job well. Known for his strong work ethic and knowledge, he became a mentor to many coworkers, always willing to share what he knew and help others succeed. Outside of work, he found great joy in the beauty of the world around him. He loved nature and enjoyed watching gardens grow and change with the seasons, always looking forward to spring and the return of flowers each year. He enjoyed fishing, spending time near the water and at the beach, and appreciating the quiet moments that nature provided. He was also a true music lover. His home was rarely quiet, as he almost always had music playing. He loved meaningful conversations and thoughtful discussions, always enjoying the chance to connect with others and share perspectives. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, generosity, and the way he made everyone feel welcome and cared for. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to those around him. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his legacy of love, kindness, hard work, and devotion to family will live on through the many lives he touched. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. His love will remain in the hearts of his family forever, guiding them, comforting them, and reminding them that he will always be with them. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. ❤️ Visitation for John will be held on Friday, March 20, from 3 - 8 p.m. at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (four blocks east of Woodward), Royal Oak. The funeral service for John will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
