Ken E. Karas

Ken E. Karas, 85, of Attica, MI, passed away on March 23, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on February 11, 1939, in Detroit, MI, he was the beloved son of Charlie Karas and Angeline Karas (Dunaj). Ken led a rich and fulfilling life, marked by a myriad of interests and accomplishments. A proud patriot, he served his country with honor as a member of the United States Army. His bravery and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of all who knew him. In his leisure time, Ken found solace in the tranquility of fishing and cherished moments spent at his cottage, surrounded by the serenity of the lake. His love for nature and the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for these pastimes. Ken was a true jack of all trades and he was always involved in various projects around his cottage. Left to cherish his memory are his four children: Brian (Heather) Karas, Kimberly (Chris) Fulenwider, Brad (Pam) Karas, and Brett (Jesse) Karas. He was a devoted grandfather to Andrew, Alyssa, Mathew, Brandon, Adam, Aaron, Emily, Evelyn, Eliana, Brett James, Ashley, Kyle, Ashley (Charles), and Alexis. His legacy further extends to his great-grandchildren: Layla, Logan, Lilly, Rylee, Gage, Ava, Van, Noah, and Caleb. Ken is also survived by his brother, Allen (Martha) Karas, and sister-in-laws, Marcia Karas and Arlene Karas. Additionally, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Ken is preceded in death by his brothers, Karol and Ron, and sister, Christine. Ken's warmth and friendship touched the lives of many, especially: Ron and Cindy Randall, Sherman and Kelly Rice, Brandon Rice, Scott Tomlinson, and Paul and Helena Arfe. Visitation will be held at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors in Utica, MI, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow immediately at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. In honoring Ken's memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made to any military organization of choice.
