Louis Boudreau

Heaven just got a little rowdier - and a lot more Irish. Louis Paul Boudreau went to be with our Savior on June 17, 2026. Born on March 2, 1968, Lou was the son of the late James Edward Boudreau and Nancy Catherine (Stevenson) Kopins. He was the kind of person whose presence could fill a room. Whether you were family, a lifelong friend, or someone who just sat down on the bar stool next to him, no one was a stranger. Lou had a rare gift for making people feel special, seen, and valued. Lou attended Oral Roberts University and also studied in Paris at the Sorbonne, experiences that reflected both his intellect and his adventurous spirit. A true math wizard, he paired a sharp mind with remarkable talent and charisma. He was a successful entrepreneur who started a mortgage company with his father, building something meaningful through hard work, vision, and dedication. Lou was also a gifted athlete and an incredible sports fan. He was devoted to Detroit sports, cheering faithfully for the Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings, and he remained a loyal maize and blue fan as well. On the golf course, his talent was immense. Off the course, he was just as unforgettable - with a beautiful voice, a love of music ranging from The Smiths to Elton John, and a reputation for tearing up the dance floor whenever the opportunity arose. Family was at the center of Lou's life. He was an engaged, loving uncle who delighted in spending time with his nieces and nephews, always eager to attend their events in their younger years. As his many nieces and nephews grew older, he fostered a loving bond with them. In addition to being an amazing uncle, Lou's love of family extended to all his 101 first cousins. The family traditions of the Boudreau and Stevenson clans were paramount to Lou. From the many golf tournaments, picnics and reunions he was always the first to arrive and last to leave. One of the sweetest parts of Lou's story was finding the love of his life, Kathleen (Humitz) Boudreau, on her birthday - the beginning of a romance that felt like a fairytale. For almost 30 years, Lou and Kathleen built a marriage rooted in faith, love, admiration, respect, and unwavering support for one another. Lou placed Kathleen on a pedestal and was immensely proud of her. Together they shared a love of travel, returning often to favorite places like Ireland and Hilton Head, while also enjoying the adventure of exploring somewhere new. Many of their travels centered around golf, which usually included some shenanigans on or off the course, and led to lifelong friendships being established. Lou valued these friendships deeply. Through every season of life, Lou's strong faith remained his north star and compass, guiding the way he loved, lived, and cared for others. Lou is survived by his beloved wife of almost 30 years, Kathleen (Humitz) Boudreau; his mother, Nancy Catherine (Stevenson) Kopins; his siblings, Nancy Boudreau, James Boudreau, Robert Boudreau, Brandon and Monica Boudreau, and Angel Boudreau-Muckle and Tracy Muckle; along with his cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. Lou will be remembered for his larger-than-life spirit, his warmth, his humor, his faith, and the joy he brought wherever he went. His voice, his laughter, and his devoted heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. A memorial service for Lou will be held on Friday, June 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Church, 4900 Maybee Rd., Village of Clarkston, MI 48348.
