Marian Sporka

Marian Sporka (nee Michalski), born on July 24, 1961, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 63. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, and will be missed dearly by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Marian leaves behind her beloved husband, Patrick, who she married on July 3, 1982, and together they had their cherished son, Kevin. She was also a dear sister to Stanley (the late Jean) Michalski of Manchester, Caroline Szalony of Westland, and Frank (Betty) Michalski of Belleville. She is also predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Stephanie (nee Gorczyca) Michalski. Marian worked at St. Lawrence School in Utica, MI as a lunchroom supervisor for 15 years, and volunteered at the St. Lawrence AppleFest for many years. She loved working with kids and was even a private full-time daycare provider for a local family prior to that. She graduated from Huron High School in New Boston, MI. She loved to plant many beautiful flowers every year, and she especially loved her beautiful hibiscus plant. Marian loved decorating for Christmas, and her large display grew every year, including her cherished snowman collection, multiple Christmas trees and a real palm tree. She loved going to the movie theatre often, as well as going to dinner with friends. She loved taking vacations to beaches and relaxing to the sound of ocean waves. Most importantly, Marian loved and cared for her family and friends and selflessly gave her time and talents to others whenever anyone needed help. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose love was boundless, and whose compassion was endless. Visitation for Marian will be held on Monday, April 28, from 4-8pm and Tuesday, April 29, from 2-8pm at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. (3blks. E. of Van Dyke) in Utica. A funeral mass will be held at St. Lawrence Church, 44633 Utica, Rd., Utica on Wednesday, April 30, with instate at 12pm until the time of the funeral Mass at 12:30pm. A burial will take place immediately following the funeral mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd, in Clinton Township. A reception will be held following the burial at Fern Hill Banquet Hall, 17600 Clinton River Rd, in Clinton Township The family asks that any memorial donations in honor of Marian be made out to: Abigayle Ministries (12313 19 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48313).
