Nancy Carol Dailey

Nancy Carol Dailey (nee Loose), age 82, passed away on February 26, 2023. Nancy’s greatest accomplishment was making sure her family and friends were surrounded in love. “All she ever wanted was to be a wife and mother; and that she did very well,” says her lifelong friend of 82 years Jane McEvers. “When she loved, she loved.” Nancy Carol (Loose) Dailey, age 82, passed away peacefully and pain-free on February 26, 2023, at Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital in Rochester Hills, MI, with her husband by her side after a full day with family and friends. Nancy was lovingly married for 62 years to her devoted husband Thomas Jerry Dailey, her high school sweetheart. She has three children, James and Jennifer Dailey, Keith Dailey, and Denise (Dailey) DeSantis; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Tracey Daniels) DeSantis, Jeremy (Molly Preisel) DeSantis, Jessica (Patrick Murphy) Dailey, and Jasmine (Gustavo Medina) Dailey; and one great-grandchild, Nina Grace (Daniels) DeSantis. She is preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Ethel Loose, Sr.; and siblings Edwin (Doris) Loose, Jr., William (Pamela) Loose, and Penelope “Penny” Warne. Nancy was born on March 28, 1940, in Mt. Clemens, MI. She graduated from Roseville High School, Roseville, MI, in 1958 and went on to obtain her Cosmetology License from Virginia Farrell Beauty School, Southfield, MI. She practiced as a hairstylist at Elmira Hair Salon in St. Clair Shores, MI, from 1958 to 1962, and thereafter in her home. She held many positions throughout her life, including Clerk at JoAnn’s Fabric and Crowley’s Department Store; Hall Monitor, Computer Room Specialist, and Career Center Supervisor at Utica Community Schools; and ran the volunteer-based wing of the former Crittenton Hospital’s puppet-making endeavor where they aimed to provide every sick child who stayed at the hospital with a cute, little, lovingly handmade puppet. But, by far, she will always be remembered and appreciated by her strong ability to love. Nancy resided in Roseville, MI; Utica, MI; and, more recently, Rochester Hills, MI. Nancy's family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica.
