Norman Gregory Jackman, Sr.

Norman "Norm" Gregory Jackman, Sr., age 87, a resident of Shelby Township, passed away at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, March 18, 2015. Norm was born August 29, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to Joseph and Dora Jackman. He graduated from St. Philip Neri High School in Detroit. Norm served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. After serving in the armed forces he married Helen, the love of his life, on September 18, 1948 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Detroit. He worked and retired from Campbell-Ewald Advertising after 27 years of hard work. Norm enjoyed golfing and gambling on trips taken to Las Vegas. He also enjoyed traveling to many places including Hawaii, San Francisco, and even taking cruises. His most important trip and family tradition were two week vacation trips to the cabin in Port Austin. He and his family enjoyed traveling there every summer for over 20 years. After a long day at work he enjoyed a shot and a beer. Norm is the beloved husband of Helen. The loving father of five Daughters, Marilyn Jackman, Beth Steve Gordon, Eileen Danny "The Veng" Venglar, Amy Danny "D-Lo" Barr, and Maureen Mike "Pepe" Pace; Four Sons, Mike Marcia Jackman, Tim Sharon Jackman, Norm Mariann Jackman Jr., Danny "Zolis" Melinda Jackman; Loved grandfather of two Granddaughters, Jade Jackman, and Caitlin Gordon; Nine Grandsons, Gregory Jackman, Matthew Jackman, Christopher Venglar, Zachary Venglar, Joshua Venglar, Ryan Barr, Trevor Barr, Chad Pace, and Troy Pace; Great-grandfather of Mila Jackman, Brayden Rogers, and Nikolas Jackman. Dear brother of, Patricia Remy Gamble, and brother-in-law of Sally Jackman; Norm was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Jackman, mother, Dora Jackman, brother, Thomas Jackman, and brother, James Jackman. Norm's family will receive friends on Friday March 20, 2015 from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road 3 Blocks E. of Van Dyke, Utica, Michigan 48317. A scripture service will take place at 7:00 PM on Friday. Instate Saturday, March 21, 2015 10:30 AM at St. Kieran Catholic Church 53600 Mound Road, Shelby Township until time of Mass 11:00 AM. Interment Utica Cemetery, in Utica, Michigan with prayers and military honors.
