Terry Kozikowski

Terry Kozikowski, a man whose heart knew no bounds, left us on July 20, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love. Born on January 29, 1943, Terry lived a life filled with a deep passion for family, sports, and photography. Terry is survived by his "better half," Jackie Gallas-Henry and her children, Renee' (Tom) Toft, and Ron (Carrie) Henry, and her grandchildren, Shelby (Roy) DeJesus, Eric Toft, Cooper Henry, Reagan Henry, and Riley Henry, his brother, Larry (the late Linda) Kozikowski along with generations of students from Ecorse, Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard, Lake Fenton, and De La Salle. Terry is predeceased by his parents Stanley and Sophie Kozikowski. He was very devoted to his family and his generosity was a true testament to his character; he made sure each of his grandkids started their college journeys with new laptops, and was always eager to provide them with the tools and counseling that they needed to succeed. A sports enthusiast through and through, Terry's love for athletics was infectious. His heart belonged to the University of Michigan football team, and his spirit soared with every victory. Terry's dedication to sports extended beyond cheering from the sidelines; he ensured each of the grandkids had the chance to attend sports camps, fostering their passion for athletics. He never missed an opportunity to cheer on any of the grandkids or extended family members, sporting or academic events. Photography was another passion that Terry held close to his heart. Whether it was family gatherings or sporting events, he could always be found capturing precious moments through his lens, creating lasting memories for those he loved. In his spare time, Terry loved road trips that took him to various destinations, whether it was to purchase lottery tickets in another state, to deliver a birthday cake, or to surprise someone with a jersey from their favorite college. Always dependable, he was the one to turn to when you needed a ride anywhere, anytime, even if it was out of state. And on those journeys, you could count on Terry to share his extensive collection of long winded stories filled with his off-the-wall sense of humor. Terry also impacted the lives of many students. He was a teacher turned counselor, and dedicated himself to coaching and scouting football, touching the lives of countless students and athletes with his guidance, mentorship, and encouragement. In his later years, he even volunteered twice a week in his granddaughter's classroom. As we mourn the loss of Terry, we take comfort in knowing that his devout faith has led him to eternal joy in the heaven. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations be made out to The Capuchins at www.thecapuchins.org A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, from 4pm-8pm, with a rosary service taking place from 6pm-6:30pm, followed by the sharing of memories, at the Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Rd. Utica, MI 48317 (3blks. East of Van Dyke). Please note: there will not be an additional day of visitation on Monday, July 24, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, instate at 9:30am, Mass at 10am, at St Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Rd, Utica, MI 48317. A Burial will take place following the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. The family would like to invite everyone to a luncheon at The Brewery, located at 39950 Hayes Rd, Clinton Twp, MI 48038, following the burial.
