Theresa M. Kowalski

Kowalski, Theresa M. ("Tess") Age 93, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2026. Born on December 6, 1932, in Detroit, Tess was the beloved daughter of the late John and Anna Kulik. Loving sister of Francis Ala and the late Lawrence Kulik. Tess shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband, Kenneth Kowalski, who preceded her in death in 2018. Together, they built a loving family that remained the center of her life. She was the cherished mother of Danny (Susan) Kowalski, Rozanne (Doug) Darland, James (Charlene) Kowalski, Diane (Brian) Sanders, and Lee Ann Czerniawski. Proud and loving grandmother of Kristin (Craig) Willey, Bryan (Melissa) Kowalski, Lauryn Kowalski, Matthew (Sally) Sanders, Mitchell (Samantha) Sanders, Heather Kowalski, and Sara Czerniawski. She was also a treasured great-grandmother to Chase Willey, Carter Willey, London Kowalski, Kingston Kowalski, Georgia Sanders, Cameron Sanders, Zoe "Theresa" Sanders, and Mac Sanders. Tess is also survived by her extended family: Leah (Ali) Hanoosh, Erin (Matt) Flaim, and Daniel (Diana) Darland. Affectionately known as "Grandma T," she held a special place in the hearts of Dan, Elene, Jude, Violet, and David. Tess embraced life with joy, warmth and a deep love for family and friends. She treasured time spent golfing, quilting, baking, and playing cards with her many friends, and especially enjoyed frequent trips up north with her family. Whether competing in family golf tournaments or spending time around the campfire, she made every moment meaningful. A wonderful baker, Tess was especially known for her delicious apple pies, which became a cherished tradition at family gatherings. Above all, she treasured time with her family, friends, and neighbors, creating lasting memories through her kindness and unwavering care for others. Her legacy of love, strength, and devotion will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wm.
