Theresa M. Lawrence

Theresa "Terry" Mae Lawrence, 37, died peacefully, after a brave battle with cancer, on Tuesday, September 27, at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital, where she was born on September 16, 1985 to Mark and Kimberly Baker. She was the devoted wife to Mark Lawrence and loving mother to her pride and joy, her sons James and Connor. She will be incredibly missed by her friends and family and all who knew her. Ever the family gatherer, she planned annual trips to the apple orchard and the Christmas tree farm, memories the family will hold dear (and future ones to be done in her honor). She loved her "chips and dip", My Neighbor Totoro, and her childhood "blankie", an object of friendly teasing by her family. Terry was a loyal employee of Rochester Medical Group, where she worked for 15 years as a Medical Assistant and Division Manager and oversaw its most recent expansion. Along with her parents, husband and sons, Terry leaves behind her close-knit siblings, Jenifer (Buzz) Johnstone, Emily (Andrew Obenauf) Baker, Zachary Baker, and Quentin (Rachel) Baker, along with her grandma Jean Turner; in-laws Steve, Laura, Matt (Sarah), and Tommy Lawrence; eleven nieces and nephews whom she adored; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her best friends of over 25 years Mary Pettey and Jaclyn Gaule. She was predeceased by grandparents Bob and Mary Baker and Duane Butts, aunt Corinne Turner, uncles Bob Baker and Paul Baker, and cousin John Strauss. Her family is incredibly blessed to have spent one last birthday and apple orchard outing with her. Terry loved and was loved by everyone she met. She lit up a room with her smile and touched the lives of so many. Her faith made her strong and she knew each day was a gift from God not to be wasted. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 2-8 pm with a 6 pm Rosary at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak, MI 48067. Terry will lie in state on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 10 am until the time of Mass 10:30 am at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 581 E 14 Mile Road, Clawson, MI 48017. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Troy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the education of James and Connor Lawrence. Savings accounts have been established and checks can be made out to their names.
