Virginia Maggetti

Virginia Maggetti, of Ray Township, passed away on September 5, 2024, at the age of 96. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gino Maggetti. Virginia and Gino were married May 31, 1947 and started their life together in Detroit moving to East Detroit in 1952 where they raised their 6 children. In 1971, they bought 11 acres in Ray Township which they lovingly referred to as "The Land" they would spend weekends there enjoying family time together. In 1981, they built their house and retired to "The Land" where they tended their fruit trees and bountiful garden. Virginia loved to feed her family! She canned her garden tomatoes every year, and always had her homemade sauce on the stove ready for pasta. Her homemade cannoli was a Christmas Eve tradition, and you could never walk in her house without her offering you a "sangwich". She loved bowling. She bowled on leagues until she was 93, and for her 95th birthday, celebrated with her family at the bowling alley and bowled a whole game. The Maggetti family grew to 51, who often gathered at "the Land" for holidays, birthdays, or to just be together, they especially enjoyed their Christmas celebrations with their large extended family. Virginia will be greatly missed by all those who loved her. She was predeceased by her loving daughter Mary (Survived by Mark) Logsdon, and leaves behind her boys: John (Sue), Samuel, Robert (Mary), Gene, Donald (Renae) She was the loving Grandmother of 19 grandchildren: Brian (Marie) Logsdon, Lauren (Adam) Robinson, Joshua (Mary) Maggetti, Sarah (Dave) Schadler, Adam Maggetti, Brooke (Mike) VanRhee, Megan (Chris), Andrew (Noah), Amanda (Patrick) Brownell, Bradley (Joanna), Alexander (Megan), Melanie, Brandon (Yukie), Ryan, Weston, Angela, Aubrey, Gavin, she was predeceased by her grandson Jason. Great-grandmother of 12: Mariel, Sam, Alyssa, Evan, Annabella, Lucas, Dominic, Lawson, Amelia, Romeo, Perle and Jack. Virginia was preceded in death by her siblings, Josephine Scavone, Mary (John) Ancona, Joe (Florence) Barbara, Pete (Frances) Barbara, and Catherine "Kay" (Vincenzo "Jim") Guida She leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
